The Green Balkan’s team visited the region of Partisani village to continue their work on the protection of the Egyptian vulture

During these last vacation days, the Green Balkan’s team and volunteers from the ecology club “Barbatus” from the Thracian University visited the Dulgopolskoto village Partisani.
There, as you may know, we have been working for years to protect the Egyptian vultures that inhabit the area.
First we visited the fountain we refurbished. Luckily, in contrast of others in the region, it was still flowing at an enviable rate. We cleaned its trough so the animals could quench their thirst with clean water.
After that, we met up with the children of the village. We told them about the Egyptian vulture, our work on its protection, and why it’s protection is important. We showed them a figurine of the bird in its real size and coloring. At the end, everyone got the opportunity to observe through the telescope provided by our team, and take on the role of ornithologists for a while.
The activities of Green Balkans related to the release of Egyptian vultures in the area of the village of Potochnitsa are carried out with the financial support of the International Center for Birds of Prey ICBP, Great Britain and the Municipality of Prague and Prague Zoo within the framework of the project "Conservation of the Egyptian Vulture in the Balkans".
