The chick is an offspring of a pair, donated to project Egyptian Vulture New LIFE (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874) by our friends from Prague zoo.
The pair is a new inhabitant of the Rescue center, that’s why it is a great happiness that it hatched! Today, the team of the project climbed up in the nest to check the health of the chick.
Fortunately, its condition is more than satisfying. We fed it and returned it to the nest, and we took the advantage to replace the second egg with a dummy. We put the egg in an incubator. In case it hatches, our team will take care of it in the first days of his life, and after it gains weight it will be returned to the parents.
Meanwhile, we have already planned the future of the chick – this year it will be released by the adaptation aviary in Eastern Rhodope mountain, as part of our activities on the project!
