Workshop at the Green Balkans Rescue Center

Workshop at the Green Balkans Rescue Center

At the end of last week, the Green Balkans Rescue Center hosted a workshop entitled ‘Overcoming key issues in the conservation and rescue of wild animals in distress – collaborative activities between institutions, local authorities, stakeholders, NGOs’.

During the two-day workshop organized within the ‘Natura 2000 in Bulgaria – New Horizons’ LIFE17 GIE/BG/000371 project the guests listened to a series of presentations and on the second day they had the opportunity to visit the clinic as well as the visitor center at the Rescue Center, where they took part in a first aid training session for wildlife in distress, got new ideas and experience for ex situ wildlife conservation.

We’d like to thank all of the participants from the different RIEW, the Ministry of Environment and Waters, Regional Forest Directorate Stara Zagora, State Forestry - Stara Zagora, Trakia University, zoos, Nature and National Parks for their interest, as well as all volunteers for their help organizing and hosting the event at the Rescue Center.

We’d like to thank our volunteer, Yana Andonova for the photos!
