We visited again the region around the village Partizani in order to help the native Egyptian vultures!

In the framework of our activities to foster the wild population of the rare Egyptian vultures in north-east Bulgaria our team visited several days ago the region of the Dalgopolian village of Partizani.

There, on the supplementary feeding station, that our team maintains, we scattered food around for the birds.
This activity is very important because the birds are raising their chicks right now and the availability of enough food will significantly increase their chance of successfully managing this difficult task.

During our visit, we also stopped by the taps in the region. We aimed to choose one, that we are going to repair to be used by the locals and their animals.

Taps are important for the everyday life of the locals, a big part of which is working with farm animals. And if there are more animals, then the vultures will have a brighter future.

The team of Green Balkans had assistants – veterinary students from the Trakian University.

The activities are funded by the Municipality of Prague and Prague Zoo as part of project “Protection of the Egyptian vulture in the Balkans”.
