13 falcons, hatched at the Rescue Center, as part of our activities under the "Reintroduction of the Saker falcon in Bulgaria" project, are already flying freely in the skies of Bulgaria.
They were pre-housed in three adaptation aviaries in the Stara Zagora region, where our team has been caring for them for a little over 14 days.
Currently, the birds inhabit the area of the adaptive aviaries, and we continue to care for them by delivering food daily and monitoring their behaviour.
By the middle of the month, the second group of about 12 young falcons will follow the same fate and, in turn, will be housed in the project's adaptation aviaries.
So, if all goes according to plan, a total of 25 Saker falcons will be released this year.
We remind you that this is part of our work for the return of the species to Bulgarian nature, which the Green Balkans team has been carrying out since 2010.
The "Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria" project is funded by the Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund and Armeec JSC.
