We're waiting for the Egyptian Vultures

We're waiting for the Egyptian Vultures

In the middle of February, a team from Green Balkans prepared the supplementary feeding station for Egyptian Vultures near the village of Partizani, Dalgopol municipality.

While waiting for the birds to return from migration, our team cleared the site from fallen branches, overgrown bushes and tall grasses.

The preparation of the terrain prior to the birds' return is an important part of the work process, as we carry out regular feeding of the vultures in the area for which our team passes through a difficult-to-access dirt road.

The supplementary feeding is important not only for the vultures returning to nest and raise their offspring in our country, but also for the permanent feathered inhabitants of the area.

That is why our team is a frequent visitor to the site.

We hope that the 2024 season will be successful for the fragile population of the species.

The activities are funded by the Municipality of Prague and Prague Zoo as part of project “Protection of the Egyptian vulture in the Balkans”.
