On June 1st, one of the most beloved holidays of the year for all children, the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center was visited by more than 300 children aged 7 to 12.

During their visit , the young nature lovers got acquainted with many of the pressing problems related to environmental protection. For the first time, a diorama of a stork's nest with a lot of waste in it was shown, made within the project “For cleaner nature today, tomorrow and forever”, funded by our partner Lidl Bulgaria. In this way we showed the children what the garbage dumped by people causes to wild animals.

We are happy to note that in the last week alone, over 1,000 children visited the Center and learned about methods and practices for separate garbage collection. We presented them with various presentations about the activities of the Green Balkans, various models of species of birds with high conservation status.

In addition, the children got acquainted with the living inhabitants of the Rescue Center from our visitor's corner, whom due to their injuries cannot be returned to the wild.

The activities are implemented under the project “For cleaner nature - today, tomorrow and forever”. This project is implemented thanks to the largest socially responsible initiative of Lidl Bulgaria “You and Lidl for a better life”, in partnership with the Foundation Workshop for Civic Initiatives and the Bulgarian Donors' Forum.
