We are preparing the adaptation aviaries, home of the Saker falcons, in the field!
19.05.2023In a few days, the time will come when the falcons hatched at the Rescue Center, within the "Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon to Bulgaria" project, will leave their parents and go to freedom!
The first "steps" of the young falcons, before they fly into the sky, pass through the adaptation aviaries. These are special devices installed in the crowns of trees. This temporary home of the young birds is used as a place for adaptation, and all the time we, from Green Balkans, monitor the falcons, using mounted cameras and a field team. Our care during this adaptation period also includes feeding twice a day.
This year we have prepared four adaptation aviaries, which these days were installed, equipped and prepared to receive the first inhabitants!
