We Prepare Babies of Day and Night Birds of Prey for their Wild Life According to a New Method

26.06.2010

The birds will live about a month in a special adaptive aviary, which were constructed by Natural Park Bulgarka. They will be isolated by human presence at the most and will learn to catch living food, which will increase their chance to survive after being set free. After a period of adaptation, the aviaries will be opened and the birds will be set free, but for a while food will be put inside because the young should have a certain source of food while they get used to catch by themselves in the wild nature.
The young Common buzzards were found as they were fallen from their nests and it was necessary to breed them in the Centre by a team, and the owls were hatched and raised at the Rescue Center by parents with permanent injury, which could not be set free.
We hope that this method, which has been tried and proved to give results, will give an additional chance to our youths to survive and find their place in the life nature of Bulgaria.
We would like to express our gratitude to Management of NP Bulgarka for the opportunity to give to our “graduates” a better start in life!
