Visiting the Rescue Center20.02.2009
The bad weather and the torrential rain were not an obstacle to the kids’ great enthusiasm. This visit had several purposes. First, the kids had set themselves the responsible task to hand in the funds raised through the Christmas Charity Bazaar held last year. These funds, of course, were intended for the subsistence of the Eagle Owl that has been a patient of the Rescue Center for years and was previously adopted by the kids. Besides, the young nature lovers wanted to learn about the advance of the Rescue Center’s breeding program. Their attention, of course, was focused on the Eagle Owl pair, part of which was their favorite. The fact that the pair had not laid an egg yet did not discourage our young friends. The kids promised to come later, to visit the bird family again.
Last, but not least, the kids made this visit to invite Green Balkans’ team to the forthcoming March Charity Bazaar. This will be the sixth year in a row, when the kids from “P.R. Slaveykov” Secondary School organize charity events before the March and Christmas holidays. Thus they support the Eagle Owl that is part of the family breeding at the Center, and when the chicks are hatched and grown up, the kids happily take part in the release event.
