Their new home is once again the protected area Zlato pole, a preferred location for stork releasing for many years.
As always the birds were marked with rings and wrapped up for the release. Their temporary home will be the old power substation, which once again will give shelter to the flocks of storks, released from the Centre.
Accompanying the storks is a young marsh harrier. The storks flied away on their own but the harrier got his freedom from the hands of an internee of the Centre.
The protected area Zlato Pole was chosen for it provides plenty of food supplies to the newcomers, so they will be able to stock up before the autumn migration. The surrounding forests serve as a secure and comfortable resting place.
We wish our feathery friends good luck and success and hope to meet them again only in the wild.
