This year, the field activities of the "Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria" project, carried out by the Green Balkans, were completed.

The time has come to prepare the field adaptation aviaries, until recently the home of the young Saker falcons hatched at the Green Balkans Rescue Center, for the winter.

Within a day, the facilities were cleaned and "frozen". Well, in the course of work, our team decided to change the location of one of the aviaries. For this purpose, it was dismantled and taken to the base of the Rescue Center for repair.

The field season of 2022 is shaping up to be the most successful since the beginning of our work on restoring the Saker falcon in our country, which began back in 2011.

We remind you that this summer we released a total of 25 young falcons from the four adaptation aviaries. And, the field activities of our team, related to feeding and observation of young birds in nature, traditionally lasting until the end of July, this season ended at the end of August.

The project "Reintroduction of the Saker falcon in Bulgaria" is financed by the Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund and  "Armeets" JSC.
