We told the children and teachers about the Egyptian vulture, the birds of prey, the wild nature, the work of Green Balkans and the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre and what nature conservation is about.
We brought a model of an Egyptian vulture with us and in addition, the buzzard Harry was standing as a great assistant right beside us.
All of the attending students received from us stickers with Egyptian vultures as a memento of our meeting!
We like to remind, that we from the Green Balkans are working for many years in the region, where we are maintaining a supplementary feeding station for birds of prey. Our aim is to support the breeding pairs of Egyptian vultures in the region.
The species is incredibly rare and the dangers to its survival are only getting bigger.
This is why we do our best to protect this wonderful and very useful bird. And in order for our efforts to bear fruit, the local people are without a doubt playing a big part.
We are thankful for the warm welcome, for the interesting questions, for the given attention and the involvement in our work.
