On January 22nd, in two film-shows, more than 150 children and teachers of “Vasil Levski” High School and more than 30 citizens and guest of Stara Zagora watched the documentary at “The Different Comsomol” cinema. The impressive pictures of the majestic birds and the fact that they had been taken by Green Balkans’ team in Bulgaria stirred great interest among the visitors.

One of Bulgaria’s places that still harbor these rare eagles and that was the focus of the activities shown in the documentary is Sakar SPA – part of NATURA 2000 European Ecological Network.

In this particular region, harboring many rare birds species, Green Balkans has recently launched the implementation of “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE 11 NAT/BG/360 funded by LIFE program of the European Union.

Both, the new project and the Wildlife Rescue Center run by Green Balkans were presented to the participants in the event.
