The unusual work of the veterinarians at the Rescue Centre

The work of the veterinarians at the Rescue Centre is unusual for many reasons.

Our patients are wild, we do not study about them at the university, they have atypical pet behavior, a different disease symptoms, they respond differently to everything our associate professors and professors have taught us! This is not enough, and we often witness unusual cases that make us look for extraordinary ways to solve it!

The case we will tell you about is one of those.

Imagine a Little Owl that somehow managed to wrap itself repeatedly in barbed wire! The people who found her, wanted to help her so they brought her to the Rescue Centre - the poor scared creature and all the wire that was around her!

So, with the veterinarians, we had to roll up our sleeves and untie this Gordian knot with the help of a wire cutter. But, unlike Alexander the Great, we did not cut the knot, which in our case was the Little Owl, but slowly and carefully removed the wire from the stressed bird!

Well, unfortunately, the bird was left with permanent damage. Something we couldn't save!

This is the unusual, interesting, but also challenging work of the vets at the Centre!
