The wall mount cabinet and the battery of the video surveillance cameras were dismounted from the adaptation aviary in Eastern Rhodope Mountains during the last few days. This was the last step of the preparation for the winter, which the team of the Center, part of the project “ Egyptian vulture New LIFE” (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874) have accomplished.

And in the spring, when the adaptation aviary will be again in use and young Egyptian vultures will be accommodated in it, we will install the equipment back.

It will allow us to monitor the birds, even from thousands of kilometers distance without disturbing them. This is the only way to make sure that the juvenile chicks, hatched in a zoo, are adapting well to the new conditions in the wild.
