The first happy news this week came from the 'Egyptian Vulture New LIFE' project team. The event was highly anticipated and extremely exciting for all of us - a second pair of Egyptian vultures at the Rescue Centre laid an egg! They were donated to the project by Prague Zoo in 2019.
Even with their arrival with us last year, the birds surprised and demolished us and hatched two small ones, which were released in the Eastern Rhodopes region the same year. Back then, within the project, our team chose two different release methods - one through an adaptation aviary, and the other was placed in a wild foster pair.
So, the feathered family is once again waiting for the happy event of hatching this year's generation. Until then, however, we at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre will look after them and keep you informed of all the interesting things that are happening in their home.
