For a period of several months the “beastess” had been taken care in the Green Balkans Rescue Centre before being equipped with a GPS/GRPS transmitter, thanks to Electroinvest Ltd, and then released. The data from the transmitter, which is used to keep track of every step she makes in the wild, shows that Buyana is adapting well to life in freedom. The eagle dwells in a territory with a radius of 20 km from the place where she was released.
Until now the transmitter has sent 390 of her locations. The restless “beastess” constantly roams the region she likes best, already covering 479 km. The eagle reached a maximum speed of 105 km per hour, probably diving during hunting. The transmitter gives us information about the daily activities of the bird and where her preferable sleeping sites are.
We hope that in the future our “rock woman” will be all right and we will continue to inform you about more interesting facts that we receive through the tracking.
Go on just like this, Buyana! Forgive our voyeurism in following all your steps. For you the transmitter is just a small wound on your back while for us it is a reassurance that you are O.K.
