The last 13 storks from the aviary in the Green Balkan’ Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center were released today.
12 white storks and black stork were examined, disinfested and tagged with rings of the Bulgarian ornithological center and released near Opan village, Stara Zagora.
The birds are the last storks for this year to be released form the Rescue center. Some of them were juveniles needing to be reared and the rest were patients of the intensive care unit in the clinic, already rehabilitated and in good health.
Fair wind to our feathered patients and we hope they will handle with the first huge challenge in the wild – the winter migration.
In the spring we are expecting them to return safe and sound in Bulgaria and to nest and raise their offspring!
