Here is another wonderful and long-awaited news for us – the first two Saker falcons for the 2023 breeding season have already hatched!
This happened not without the help of our team, as the eggs were pre-incubated.
The hatchlings are healthy and strong and are already eating with great appetite.
We remind you that they are part of our activity under the project "Reintroduction of the Saker falcon in Bulgaria", which we have been working on for more than 10 years!
The chicks will be under the warm care of the Green Balkans team until they are seven days old, after which they will be returned to their parents. We do this in order to provide maximum protected conditions for the newly hatched, as each one of them is very important for the survival of the fragile population of the species, returned to our nature by the Green Balkans.
We hope to have a good breeding season this year and dozens of young falcons hatched at the Rescue Center would fly free!
The "Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria" project is funded by Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptror Conservation Fund and Armeec JSC.
