The first two Saker falcons for 2022 have already hatched in the incubators of the Green Balkans Rescue Center!

According to the "Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon" project team in the coming days, we expect four more chicks, which have already pierced the shells of their eggs and more than 10, which will follow their example a little later!

The good news is that both hatched little ones are in excellent shape and are enjoying a wonderful appetite, which they showed on the first day of their lives.

The methodology that our team will follow allows caring for the young up to the seventh day after hatching, after which the young must be placed with parents of the same species for rearing.

That is exactly what we will do. Because our goal this year is to release at least 20 Saker falcons. They must not only be healthy and strong but also wild enough to survive in nature. And this can only happen if they are raised properly.

The "Reintroduction of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria" project is funded by the Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund and Armeec JSC.
