The first hatched chick for 2022 has arrived in the Rescue Center Green Balkans
17.03.2022
The first wild baby at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre is a fact. This fluffy long-eared-owl came today from MEW Burgas! It surprised us not only with its charms but with its early arrival. We usually take in the first babies in the middle of April.
Maybe because of the warm weather this February, this youngling came so early.
The baby is in good health and will be left for raising at the Rescues Center. It will be cared for not only by the staff, the volunteers at the Center and the veterinary medicine students from Trakia University.
We hope that we can raise it enough so it can be released back to nature.
We remind you that there is no need to send babies long-eared-owls to the Center if they don’t have injuries. Often they fall from the trees by accident and most often, what needs to be done is to return the bird to the tree! HERE you can read more on this topic!
