The breeding season for the Bearded vultures has started at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre!

For several days now, the breeding team of the Green Balkans Wildlife Rescue Center has been observing copulation in one of the Centre's Bearded vulture families.

They are donated to the Centre by the Vulture Conservation Foundation (VCF) and are part of the European Endangered Species Programme of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

We remind you that this is one of the three pairs of Bearded vultures in our country, whose home is the Green Balkans Rescue Centre and the only breeding one, for now! Over the years, they have established themselves as good and caring parents.
They hatched for the first time in 2016, and since they have raised a total of 7 hatchlings. They are all now free as part of an international species restoration effort in Europe.

So, we continue to follow with interest the life of the feathered family in anticipation of the most wonderful part of our work - the start of new life!
