The black vulture donated to us from the Netherlands has a name!

The bird’s name is Keyo – coming from the English word Key, representing the key role it is going to play for the species reintroduction in Bulgaria and the big hopes that rest on the bird’s wings.

Keyo is already at his new home and is awaiting the first chance to meet his new partner! After a long flight the bird is now at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre in Stara Zagora.

We would like to thank all donors who helped collect the necessary funds for the bird’s transport from the Netherlands! We would also like to thank Bulgaria Animal Transport for their assistance with the administrative procedures on the bird’s arrival in our country and for covering the airport taxes at the Bulgarian airport. We fell in love with the symbolic name they offered – Keyo, and chose them as the bird’s grandparents.
