The best Christmas gift ever

A doctor in Wildlife Rescue Center, Stara Zagora, has received the best Christmas gift ever.

A Little owl that has arrived for treatment in the Rescue Center on 22 May and been released and ringed few days later, has returned on Christmas and surprised him turning up unexpectedly in the fireplace at his home. Just like Santa Claus who usually pays us a visit through the chimney.

Isn’t it the most appropriate place for an animal in distress to show up? Miracles obviously happen at Christmas and the lucky bird will be accepted again for quick nourishment and then released back in the wild.

The dedicated work of the experts and volunteers in the Rescue Center does not stop during holidays. Only on the 30th of December here have been brought 11 animals, making the total tally for the current year to the record number of 1808 – the highest since the Center’s establishment in 1992.
