The Saker Falcon breeding season at the Rescue Centre of Green Balkans has started

08.02.2024
In the month of love, we are happy to share with you that the Saker Falcons at the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre of Green Balkans have now entered their breeding period.

Valna and Dobri and Orpheus and Eurydice are the pairs who are currently copulating.

They are always the first to start their love adventure every year.

We remind you that in the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre of Green Balkans, pairs of the rare falcons are kept in aviaries specially designed for them. They are the parents of all 160 birds that have been released so far as part of our activities to restore the breeding population of the species in the country.

We hope that this breeding season will be successful and that our Saker Falcon families will hatch and raise many chicks that the Green Balkans field team will successfully release into the wild in Bulgaria.

The project "Saker Falcon Reintroduction in Bulgaria" is funded by the Mohamed Bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund.

The activities for the restoration of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria are funded by Armeec JSC.
