The Rescue Centre of Green Balkans redirected birds with permanent disabilities to Stara Zagora Zoo!
27 birds treated in the clinic of the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre of Green Balkans were redirected to Stara Zagora Zoo. The birds - diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, herons and white storks - are patients which have arrived from all over the country.
As part of our activities in collaboration with the zoos in Bulgaria, depending on their facilities our team allocates all those patients who have passed through our clinic but despite the best efforts of our veterinary specialists are not in condition to be released in the wild.
Our partnership with Stara Zagora Zoo is traditional. Over the years, it has become a second home for dozens of patients from our Centre which had permanent disabilities.
We remind you that not long ago we also donated a pair of Griffon Vultures to the zoo, which are already incubating their egg in an aviary prepared in advance according to the instructions of our team.
