The Green Balkans team keeps the Egyptian Vulture Feeding Site active all year round!

Although we are already at the end of autumn and the Egyptian vultures are far to the south, the team of Green Balkans continues to periodically leave food on the feeding site near the village of Partizani in Provadia!

If you wonder why the answer is quite simple!

In order to maintain a feeding place, it must be active throughout the year. When the vultures are gone, there are other protected species of birds - crows, buzzards, eagles!

Thus, when Egyptian vultures return from migration, they are not afraid to land and feed on the site, as the "locals" regularly eat there.

Apart from that, such a facility must be maintained regularly. The fence should be checked, the door should be repaired, the electric shepherd should be monitored to see if it works.

And when you have such dedicated assistants as veterinary students from the Trakia University, participants in the project "Student Internships - Phase 2" of the MES, funded by the Operational Program "Science and Education for Smart Growth", co-financed by the European Social Fund, the work is easy and pleasant.

Therefore, the Green Balkans team visits, at least once a month, the site to maintain the facilities and treat its wild inhabitants.

The activity is funded by the Municipality of Prague and the Prague Zoo within the "Conservation of the Egyptian Vulture in the Balkans" project.
