The Green Balkans’ Wildlife Centre Has a New Home for the Lesser Kestrels.

The Green Balkans’ Wildlife Centre Has a New Home for the Lesser Kestrels.

13.10.2017
After the release of 40 young Lesser Kestrels from the adaptation aviary in the Centre, in the last days of the “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE11 NAT/BG/360 project this summer, it is time to take care of their homes, so, when spring comes, they will return with their families, we hope.

Yes, that’s who we are. Because it is not enough only to ensure good conditions for the parents to hatch and rear their young. It is not enough to ensure good conditions for the young in the adaptation aviary, and to only think for their successful release. We should also think about the future in which the young that are release today will return to their “home” Wildlife Centre tomorrow. And now, there will meet them brand new, comfortable and secure homes, in which in their turn they will rear their young.

All that we did was, of course possible with the help of our loyal and devoted to the cause volunteers, who went in the Centre during the action for the “Young, Green, Hopes” project financed by the Youth Bank.
