Yesterday all 9 Egyptian Vultures living in the aviaries of the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre had their planned prophylactic examinations.

As part of the examination, the veterinary physicians together with the team of the 'Egyptian Vulture NEW LIFE' project (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874), had all the birds treated against parasies, and those who needed it had their beaks and claws trimmed in the Centre. Alongside this, there was 'field work' happening - cleaning and disinfecting of the aviaries, the home of the Egyptian Vultures.

The pair, which raised their first chick this year in the Centre, got themselves a brand new nest and plenty of nesting material for the incoming breeding season. Special attention was payed to the young bird hatched this year in the Centre, which our team named Gogo - feathers were collected in order to establish the gender of the bird.
