The Egyptian Vulture’s breeding season has begun at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre!

21.02.2020
In a dark, rainy day mid-February at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre, the Egyptian Vulture’s love adventure began.

This was announced by the 'Egyptian Vulture NEW LIFE' (LIFE 16 NAT/BG/000874) project team. They caught the first copulation of two of the three pairs living at the Centre. Those are the couples that hatched chicks last year, two of which were freed in the wild during the project’s field activities.

We are impatient to see how the relationship of the third pair will develop, being their first breeding season!

For now, we are full of hope for their relationship is blooming. The two birds are inseparable and if that is not enough, the female started stealing from the male's food – a certain prove for her affection.

We will keep a close eye on the things going around the love life of our feathered friends and we promise to inform you about everything interesting around them.
