The Bearded Vultures started the breeding season of the Wildlife Rescue Centre at Green Balkans

09.12.2016
These news got everyone at the Rescue Centre excited even though we were closely following the pair bringing twigs, branches and other nesting material to the nesting platform earlier.

Of course, there is no warranty that this breeding season will be as successful for these rare birds as last year, when the pair hatched and raised their very first two chicks, marking the return of the species as breeding in Bulgaria for the past 60 years. This is however an excellent start, so the team of Green Balkans hopes that the pair will be successful and in several months we will be happy to share the news for the hatching of our, Bulgarian, Bearded Vulture babies.

Until then, we will keep you up-dated with the progress of the only pair of Bearded Vultures in Bulgaria – the birds of the Wildlife Rescue Centre!

You can read about the breeding success of the Bearded Vultures last year here.
