The 5th of December - The International Volunteer Day - a volunteer gathering at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center

The International Volunteer Day is a good reason to organize a volunteer gathering at the Green Balkans Rescue Center in Stara Zagora.

Since the organization is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year the meeting passed in a retrospective manner. Rusko Petrov - the Rescue Center operational manager and Dr. Hristina Klisurova had prepared a lot of interesting stories as well as photos for proof. Georgi Dulev, one of the Green Balkans founders, greeted the volunteers. The meeting went on with a thematic quiz on wildlife with prizes.

The Rescue Center’s crew also joined the celebrations since almost all of them had started their professional paths as volunteers.

Volunteering is fundamental for our organization as well as the Rescue Center. Green Balkans was founded as a completely voluntary organization. Even now almost all activities at the Rescue Center are carried out with the help of volunteers. The Center’s team is happy to work with the young enthusiasts and help them develop their professional skills.

Happy International Volunteer Day to all who carry the spirit of good and to all volunteers! Keep helping!

The Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center information activities are carried out within the ‘NATURA 2000 in Bulgaria - NEW HORIZONS’ LIFE17 GIE/BG/000371 project.
