Summer vacations at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Center

For the last two weeks over 60 children visited the Green Balkans Rescue Center in Stara Zagora. They came from all around to learn more about our work at the Center.

The sunny kids from the ‘Slanchogledi’ Children Center, Stara Zagora, who are very interested in nature and wildlife visited us and met some of the center’s patients – birds with permanent disabilities that have been treated at the Rescue Center. One of our main goals is to tell children how to care for nature and wildlife and the best way to do it is to tell them more about their lives and their difficulties and let them see for themselves.

Over 50 children from the ‘Hristo Smirnenski’ primary school, Stamboliiski, learned more about rare and protected species, like the saker falcon, beraded vulture, griffon vulture, lesser kestrel and other we breed at the Rescue Center. Thanks to the video surveillance system at the Center, we managed to show them some interesting moments of the birds’ lives. We talked about protected species and what we do to help them.
