In late September, within the project "Know birds of Bulgarian nature " the students of class VIII and IX of PGVM " i.p. Pavlov " Stara Zagora were given a series of lectures.
They participants were taught about bird diversity in the country, as well as some of the " ins and outs " of keeping them in an aviary . Meetings with young naturalists ended with the screening of the Green Balkans films " Bulgarian forest now but what about the future " and " Imperial Eagle - a living symbol or a museum exhibit" creating particular problems in the Bulgarian countryside.

During the lecture portion the students were very active . Therefore they, along with representatives of the sponsers "Youth Bank " participated in the release of 11 white storks (Cicinia ciconia) and a common buzzard (buteo buteo) within the Protected Area “Zlata Pole”

After the release of the birds the group of young environmentalists went to the outskirts of Stara Zagora .

Where students learned about the activities of the project " Return of the Saker Falcon in Bulgaria " and the role of the Centre in it. They saw the area that “hack” nest was built, this was the temporary home to four young Saker Falcons hatched at the Rescue Center and released earlier this year.

During their visit they also saw wild Common Buzzard that watched students (Buteo buteo), Grey Heron (Ardena cinerea), European Roller (Coracias garrulous) and Mallards (Anas platyrhynchos).

Much still remains to be done teaching students from Stara Zagora more from the “Know the birds in Bulgaria” project and about the wildlife of our wonedrful country.
