Students from the Thracian University learnt about the functioning of the Rescue Center

29.11.2013
The lecture was a part of the activities envisaged within "Discover the birds of Bulgaria’s wildlife" project funded by Youth Bank - Stara Zagora.

The daily efforts at the Rescue Center were presented through photographs to more than 120 young people from all over the country. The Wildlife Rescue Center is the lead unit for rehabilitation and breeding of rare and extinct species at national level.

In addition to the activities implemented by the Rescue Center, the future veterinary specialists were also acquainted with some other aspects of Green Balkans’ work, such as the programs for recovery of extinct species – Lesser Kestrel, Saker Falcon, and Griffon Vulture.

The lecture was also attended by students, who underwent practical training at the Center last summer. They told lots of interesting stories and shared their impressions of their experience at the Center.
After the lecture, many of the young people showed interest in the volunteers’ and trainees’ programs implemented at the Rescue Center. We do hope that this month some of them will be enrolled as trainees within the project “Students and graduates’ practical training”, where the Wildlife Rescue Center is an implementing partner.
