First, we welcomed the first graders from the ‘Dimitar Petrov’ primary school, Sliven, who were enthusiastic to learn more about rare species. We showed them interesting video clips and photos of our patients. We also talked with them about vultures in their region and how we, at the Rescue Center, help them.
The kids learned about our vulture reintroduction program and how we aim to bring vultures back to Bulgaria. We told them about the threats vultures face and how we can all help them.
The students from the ‘Sveti sveti Kiril and Metodii’ primary school in the village of Brani Pole visited the Rescue Center in the afternoon. They were interested to learn about the video cameras at the Center and see what our wild patients are doing in their cages. We also had a look at some of the nests where the kids saw how the hatched chicks were doing.
