Students form Plovdiv and Branipole village filled the Green Balkans Rescue Center for wild animals’s grounds

For two days the Green Balkans Rescue center grounds continued to welcome all the young explorers that came to see the wild birds! Students from Plovdiv and Branipole village came as guests to the Center so they can learn more about wild nature and our surroundings.

While they were visiting, we managed to tell them how important is to all of us to preserve the planet clean and what are the consequences of dumping garbage in nature. We also explained that because of the high percentage of garbage in nature the Center gets calls for animals that are a victim of human negligence. We talked about storks and their nests that are made of plastic bags, strings, old clothes and used wet wipes, and how these pieces of garbage endanger the hatchlings.

Our guests managed to meet the feathered patients of the Rescue Center. We told their stories, how they got in the Center and why they cannot be released back in nature.
In the end of the visit every class choose a bird to “adopt”, leaving a donation in the Center’s donation box. We on the other hand gave them adoption certificates and different posters with interesting facts about the surrounding nature!

The activities are implemented under the project "For a cleaner nature - today, tomorrow and forever". The present project is implemented thanks to Lidl Bulgaria's largest socially responsible initiative "You and Lidl for a better life", in partnership with the "Workshop for Civic Initiatives" Foundation and the Bulgarian Donor Forum.
