Start of the breading season of the Lesser Kestrel in the Wildlife Rescue Center

04.04.2016
It has been a few days since the Lesser Kestrel in the Wildlife Rescue Center have been active in the breeding season of the Center.

The team of the “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE11 NAT/BG/360 project, have been observing the first copulations in the aviaries in the end of march.

This year we hope to beat the last year’s record of over 30 chicks hatched, and 19 of them subsequently released in the Lesser Kestrel hacking facility in Levka village, Svilengrad region.

We are eagerly waiting the development of the Lesser Kestrel breading season here, and promise to keep you informed of everything that is happening, so you can be a part of the historical moment of the return of one of the extinct species from
Bulgarian nature – the Lesser Kestrel
