Six birds flew away in the Sofia skies

The birds made their first flight in front of volunteers, donators, journalists and friends of Green Balkans. Like kites the kestrels flew away from the hands of children attending the event and the buzzards used firmer hands.

Two of the Kestrels are hatched at the Wildlife Rescue Center. Their parents were treated in the Center, but have permanent disabilities that make it impossible for them to live in the wild. These young kestrels are the fifth generation of ofspring of this couple

All other young birds have come from around the country and were raised in the Rescue Center. The long-legged buzzard was found near Shumen and Kestrels are from Rousse and Sliven, the common Buzzard was send from Shturkelovo gnezdo village (Stork's Nest) near the Iskar Dam.

We wish the young birds good luck and fair winds, because the challenges are yet to come.
