Second little Bearded Vulture Hatched at the Green Balkans Rescue Centre!

16.03.2020
Just seven days after the first baby Bearded Vulture, the Green Balkans Rescue Centre hatched the second egg of a pair of rare birds inhabiting the Centre!

Its appearance in the world, again, was assisted by our team - already with excellent experience.
At the same time, in the couple's nest, the already strengthened first-born was placed, raised so far in the incubators of the Center. To our great happiness, without surprising us, the parents immediately accepted the baby, as naturally, the mom was first to get into the nest!

So, another new life began its story at the Rescue Centre. But for our team, the challenges are yet to come, as we will have to teach our parents how to raise both babies. This, it turns out, is quite a difficult task since they usually only breed one hatchling. Unfortunately, the situation has currently "tied our hands" and although foster parents are waiting in Austria, we cannot transport our little one there!

Fingers crossed for another challenge we will not be facing alone because of the expert mentorship of Alex Llopis, our VCF colleague, and Bearded Vulture breeding consultant!
