Sad news for the second hatched Egyptian Vulture chick in the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre

28.05.2019
This is the hardest news we've had to write up recently. But unfortunately as in nature, in here these things happen as well.

We've lost the second Egyptian Vulture chick, hatched only days ago in the Green Balkans Rescue Centre! It lived less then two days ... and the reasons for that remain unknown to us.

It is a fact though that ever since the first examination a day after it was hatched, the behavior of the chick was odd.

This is what made it necessary to be hand-fed. And in the evening of that day, a team of the '[ Egyptian Vulture NEW LIFE' project (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874) visited the nest again, but ... it was too late!

Even after what happened we continue with new hopes and motivated to succeed in our mission - to help the population of the endangered Egyptian Vulture!
