Regular feeding of Egyptian vultures in the area of the Provadia plateau

11.05.2021
During the past holidays, a team from the Green Balkans Rescue Centre visited the area of the Provadia Plateau, where they made regular feeding of Egyptian vultures.

Our team combined the trip with monitoring in the area, and for this purpose, some of the old habitats of the species were visited.
The total amount of carrion exported for this feeding was more than 300 kilograms.

The regular monitoring of the site near the village of Partizani continues, equipped with the latest generation of video surveillance, thanks to which our team daily monitors the attendance and reports the species diversity. Thus, we found that in addition to Egyptian vultures, the place is regularly visited by crows, common buzzards, foxes…

We hope that our actions will support the successful breeding season of the Egyptian vultures in the region, and thus stabilize the population of the species in our country!

The activity is part of the work of Green Balkans within the 'Egyptian Vulture New LIFE' project.
