Prophylactic examination of the Egyptian vultures in the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre - Green Balkans

26.08.2019
A few days ago was conducted the planned prophylactic examination of the Egyptian vultures in the WRBC - Green Balkans.

The exam was done right after relocating the three hatchlings from this year to the Eastern Rhodopes, where they were released as part of the "Egyptian Vulture New LIFE" project (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874).

All the other birds in the Centre - three pairs and three young vultures were examined by the veterinary physicians, weighted and treated against parasites. And those that required extra treatment had their beaks and nails trimmed.

At the same time, in the absence of the birds, part of the team cleaned and disinfected the aviaries and nests, and repaired the perches and the flooring. And so, our Egyptian vultures are prepared for the winter!
