Project "Life for Falcons" guests at an event organized by the Bulgarian Falconry Union!

For the second year in a row, the Green Balkans team, part of the "Life for Falcons" project, is a guest at the "Falcon Race" event.

At the end of the past weekend, the traditional falconry competition organized by the Bulgarian Falconry Union took place. The Green Balkans team was a guest at the event.

In front of the participants, among whom were also guests from Romania, the representatives of the project talked about the work done in 2022 and the upcoming activities for 2023.

We also boasted the largest number of hatched and released young saker falcons from the Rescue Center to date, as well as the increasingly frequent sightings of falcons in the wild, a result of our work to restore the species in our country.

Finally, in an informal setting, we had the opportunity to exchange information on breeding and release methods, as well as field observations of saker falcons and other birds of prey.

The "Securing the recovery of the endangered Saker Falcon in Bulgaria and Southern Romania" (LIFE20 NAT/BG/001162) project is of 5 years duration and receives funding from the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
