Preparation of Bearded and Cinereous Vultures at the Green Balkans` Rescue Center for the new breeding season

20.10.2023
Today, the pairs of Bearded and Cinereous Vultures were prepared for the new breeding season at the Green Balkans` Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre, as well as a regular medical examination.

At the moment, the breeding program of the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre of the Green Balkans has two pairs of Bearded and one pair of Cinereous Vultures, whose health status was checked by the veterinarians and they were given the mandatory periodic manipulations for internal and external deworming.

The cages housing the birds were also thoroughly cleaned and fitted with new nests. A cage was also prepared for the third pair of Bearded Vultures, which are expected to arrive in November.

The staff from the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre of the Green Balkans under the "Bearded Vulture LIFE" project took part in the activity, as well as volunteers from the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross - Veliko Tarnovo, for which we sincerely thank them.
