October - visitors month for the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre
25.10.2019Traditionally, October is a month for visits by kindergartens, students and university students.
This year, in the first half of October we counted over 300 visitors who have booked a day at the Centre to learn about wildlife and the work of our clinic. They also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the extinct and protected species of vultures that we breed at the Green Balkans Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre - Bearded, Griffon, Black and Egyptian vultures.
On October 4 we got the first big group of visitors - students from the Thracian University majoring in veterinary medicine with instructor Associate Professor Dilyan Georgiev. The group consisted of international students from Turkey, Greece and England. They learned about another alternative to the profession they have chosen to practice.
On October 7, the sixth-graders from “Kiril Hristov” Primary School (Stara Zagora) were also among the visitors of the Green Balkans Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre. We thank Mrs. Ekaterina Yovcheva who has succeeded in arousing children's interest in animals and nurturing their respect for nature.
Students from “Dimitar Blagoev” Elementary School (Stara Zagora) were our guests on October 17. The first-graders were fascinated by the inhabitants of our visitor area - wild birds with permanent disabilities.
The information activities of the Wildlife Rehabilitation and Breeding Centre are carried out with the assistance of the project:
