Nine more birds arrived in the Green Balkans’ Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center yesterday.

Three Griffon vultures, three Egyptian vultures and two Lesser Kestrels are the newest dwellers of the Green Balkans’ Wildlife rehabilitation and breeding center.

The birds are donation by Czech zoos Prague zoo, Zlín zoo and Chomutov zoo and the Schönbrunn Zoo of Vienna. The three Griffon vultures hatched in Zlin zoo, Czech Republic will spend thirty days under quarantine in the center and then will be transported to the adaptation aviary of “Bright future for the Black vulture project” in Sinite kamani Nature Park where later on they will be released.

One of the three Egyptian vultures, hatched last year in the Austrian zoo Schönbrunn, will be transported to Eastern Rhodope, where it will be released by the soft release method together with three more birds from the same species within 'Egyptian vulture NEW LIFE" project (LIFE16 NAT/BG/000874)”.

The two other Egyptian vultures are donated to Bulgaria from Prague zoo will remain in the Center and their offspring will fly free in our sky. Prague zoo is also home of two Lesser Kestrels, hatched last year by pairs, donated to them by Green Balkans. They will enjoy their freedom after one month when they will be released in the sky above Stara Zagora.
The young Bearded vulture was hatched in Czech zoo Chomutov. She will remain in the Center and a young male is expected to arrive as her partner until the end of the year.

On the behalf of our team, we also help for the bird diversity in Prague zoo as we donated four White storks with disabilities and contributed for the transportation of a young Egyptian vulture, hatched in Sofia zoo last year.
We are glad to be part of the large European nature conservation society and thus we bring fame to Bulgaria and we truly believe that everyone can contribute as well.
