One more Griffon Vulture was donated to the vulture restoration programme in Bulgaria

On June 15th the vulture restoration programme and the Bright Future for Black Vulture LIFE14 NAT/BG/649 Project received a young Griffon Vulture from Zoo Zlin. This is the fifth bird, hatched and raised by vultures kept at the zoo.
Thus, for the past month the project has received 4 Griffon Vultures donated this month, counting the three young birds granted by Barcelona Zoo on June 1st. Read more..

A Meeting for Securing High Bird Risk Element of the Power Supply Grid Was Held

On 1 and 2 June, the “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE11 NAT/BG/360 project team in partnership with PS-SOUTH, part of EVN Group, organized a work meeting with experts from the Regional Inspectorates for Environment and Waters and National and Nature Parks Directorates in Stara Zagora. Several days ago, the Wildlife Rescue Centre and the two project teams, of the European Union’s LIFE Programme financed projects in Bulgaria “Lesser Kestrel Recovery” LIFE11 NAT/BG/360 and “Bright future for the Black vulture” LIFE14 NAT/BG/649 were the symbolical hosts of the event commemorating 25 years of the Programme and the Habitat Directive and the NATURA 2000 Network.
