12 rear saker falcons arrived in Bulgaria

Last week twelve birds from the species saker falcon (Falco cherrug) were transported to Bulgaria as a part of a program of Green Balkans and the Institute of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IBER).

The miniature world of a baby squirrel

We were not even half-way through our frenzy preparations for the new baby season when the first baby dropped in our hands, whining in pain. It was a newborn baby squirrel attacked by a predator with a broken leg, teeth markings all over its body and a body temperature that had already dropped very low. The red-haired little one was silently whimpering in pain and slowly giving itself up to the cold.

Eels Threatened of Extinction Were Detained at Sofia Airport

The Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria has participated in an international campaign for prevention of a violation in relation to a dramatically threatened of extinction species according to Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
